Adolescent Fitness Program - Appalachian Regional Healthcare SystemAd-Fit is an adolescent fitness program designed for adolescents who are in the 85th percentile or higher based on their BMI. Participants enjoy a fun filled summer being physically active and learning more about proper nutrition. This program is designed so that participants learn healthy lifestyle habits, while also having an extremely fun summer.

In previous years, participants have enjoyed riding bikes on the Virginia Creeper Trail, kayaking down the New River, learning more about where their food comes from at a NC Dairy Farm and picking local blueberries. Participants also have enjoyed some more thrilling field trips such as catching a game at the Winston Salem Dash Ballpark, riding the rapids at the Great Wolf Lodge and playing outdoor laser tag.

Daily emphasis is placed on choosing healthy foods and enjoying a very active lifestyle. Participants in the past have raved about the experiences that they receive and how they now choose healthier after school snacks and try to stay more active on the weekends with their families.
