Since the official opening of the Kate B. Reynolds Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit at Cannon Memorial on October 1, 2008, this small 10 bed unit as served over 3000 individuals. During that time we have screened over 18,000 referrals for potential admission. This unit provides acute psychiatric stablization for consumers with a diagnosable mental illness who are aged 18-64.

The Behavioral Health Unit at Cannon Memorial Hospital is the only inpatient psychiatric unit within a 40 mile radius of the High Country area. While the focus is on providing exemplary care to the High Country region, the unit routinely serves consumers from across the state of North Carolina.
