Question: Why does the Foundation need my support?question_mark

Answer: Appalachian Regional Healthcare System is a full-service not-for-profit hospital system. ARHS stays committed to promoting health in the High Country, enhancing quality of life and simply "making life better." Donations to Appalachian Regional Healthcare Foundation are an investment in the overall health of our community and a commitment to the future.

Question: How can I give?

Answer: The Appalachian Regional Healthcare Foundation welcomes annual, tribute and deferred gifts of cash and stocks. Other options include planned gifts through bequests, trusts, insurance, and other charitable programs.

Question: What programs can I support?

Answer: ARHF is happy to provide information about the many programs donors can support. Donations may be designated to benefit specific departments ARHS (e.g. cancer, stroke, birthing center, and/or emergency funds), or where the need is the greatest. Donors are always encouraged to provide their input on planning a major gift for a particular program, purpose or expense.

Question: Is my gift tax deductible?

Answer: Generally, yes. ARHF is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit institution; donations to the Appalachian Regional Healthcare Foundation are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. We recommend that you consult your tax advisors for advice specific to your circumstances.

Question: Is someone available to answer my questions about making a gift?

Answer: You can contact ARHF during normal business hours which are Monday - Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Our telephone number is 828-262-4391

Question: If I make a gift, will ARHF sell my name to other charities?

Answer: No. Protecting donor confidentiality and privacy is of key importance. Personal information is used solely to process the donation, maintain a record of contributions and keep the donor informed of the latest news and fundraising initiatives at the Foundation. The Foundation will not trade or sell donor names.

Question: What is your Cancellation/Refund Policy?

 Cancellation Policy:

If you discover that you have made a donation in error or you have made an entry error, we will rectify the error. If the error resulted in you giving more money than you intended, Appalachian Regional Healthcare Foundation will credit your account for the difference.· This donation cancellation policy is separate and apart from the refund policy for organized events

Fundraising Event Refund Policy:

If you discover that you can not participate in a fundraising event such as one of our golf tournaments, Appalachian Regional Healthcare Foundation will refund your entry fee upon receiving a written request at least two weeks prior to the event. The written request must contain your full name, mailing address, credit card number and expiration date. The entry fee will be refunded to your credit card.

Question: What credit cards do you accept for making a donation?

Answer: ARHF accepts most major credit cards except for American Express.
