Frequently Asked Questions

Why change?

The Infusion Suite will (1) improve the flexibility in scheduling appointments for patients and (2) separate non-cancer related infusion patients from the Cancer Center.

How will the referral and scheduling process change?

Medical providers will continue to use the same process to refer patients for non-cancer related infusions. After the referral is received, scheduling will contact the patient to set up an appointment.

Will it cost more?

No. Non-cancer-related infusions at Watauga Medical Center will continue to be considered an outpatient procedure. Patients will continue to receive only one bill and they will notice no changes in charges. Insurance companies will continue to cover the infusion treatment outside of the patient’s deductible and any applicable co-insurance amounts.
